Crowne Plaza Glasgow

Lighting controls undertook the programming and commissioning of the recently refurbished Argyll and Castle conference suites at the Crowne Plaza Glasgow.

Both large Suites have multiple partitions to allow the rooms to be used in different configurations. Mode evolution packs were used in combination with Key switch plates to provide intuitive functionality. This allows members of staff to recall specific lighting scenes dependant on any room configuration.

Main Concourse

Queen Margaret University moved to a new campus on the outskirts of Edinburgh. This huge project which completed during 2007 involved a huge number of lighting control solutions.

Lighting Control were involved in the programming stage for a number of public areas within the new campus.

Working with Haden Young and Mode Lighting the commissioning was completed within timescales and to cost.

Evolution systems were used incorporating IR recievers, room partitioning and IR handheld controllers.

The lighting control used DSI and analogue fluorescent fittings.

The new campus is a vibrant new academic village with high-tech buildings and attractive landscaped spaces, featuring an innovative learning resource centre at the heart of the development.

The new campus includes student residences, a student union building, indoor sports facilities and all weather surfaces, a variety of catering outlets, a shop and landscaped gardens with a range of environmental features. The design takes full account of the needs of today’s students. Current students have been consulted throughout the relocation project, from involvement in the choice of site and input into the design of buildings, to decisions on the types of catering facilities on campus. There is appropriate disabled access to residences and academic buildings.
