The Westerwood Hotel, Golf and Country Club is situated in 400 acres nestling at the foot of the Campsie Hills. Purpose built in 1991, the resort was purchased by Morton Hotels in March 2000 and since has seen major investment to both the hotel and course as part of an ongoing development programme.
Lighting Control working with Mode lighting and Mitie were involved with lighting controls programming and DMX proofing work on the function room pelmet lighting.
The lighting controls cover all the large public spaces of the new refurbishment including reception, bar , restaurant and functions spaces of the luxurious hotel.
The large function area features colour change lighting and proved a challanging control project as detailed control over various permutations of rooms governed by partition dividers was required in a simple to use fashion. In addition to duplicate controllers allowing the locking out of some functionality depending on the room usage.
The project handed over to hotel use in stages meaning that sections of the project had to be operational while others were still in a construction stage. The flexibility of the Evolution system from mode allowed sections of the project to run in a fully operational although the complete system was not commisioned or installed.
